What this site is

An information directory, compiled from public government registers and public-domain federal regulatory text. It is free to use and requires no account.

What a listing is not

A listing is a record of what a government register said about a business on the date shown on the card. It is not a recommendation, not an endorsement, not a warranty about the quality of any work, and not a guarantee that the business is currently licensed at the moment you read the page. Registers go out of date and businesses change.

Before relying on a license status for anything that matters, confirm it with the issuing authority or with the business itself. Where a register publishes no license dates, this site says so on the card rather than implying a validity period; that is the limit of what can honestly be said about those records.

The regulatory pages are not legal advice

The reference pages are an organised reading of published federal regulations, with the section numbers attached so you can check every claim against the primary text. Regulations change, and a page reflects the text as of the currency date in its source note. They are not legal advice and are not a substitute for professional advice on your own circumstances.

Accuracy and corrections

Reasonable care is taken and mistakes will still happen. If you find one, report it through the contact page and it will be checked against the source. The site accepts no liability for decisions taken on the basis of a listing or a reference page; the underlying registers and the regulatory text are the authorities.

The regulatory text quoted and summarised on this site comes from federal regulations, which are works of the United States government and are in the public domain. The listing data comes from public government registers. The editorial writing, the page structure, the computed statistics and the software are the publisher's own.

Reasonable quotation with attribution is fine. Bulk re-publication of the compiled listings is not; go to the source registers, which are public and named on the about page.

Advertising

The site carries display advertising, marked as advertising. Advertisers have no influence over which businesses are listed or in what order. No business pays to appear and no position in any list is for sale.
