How to use it
- Tap your activity when it changes: Driving, Other work (loading, checks, paperwork), Availability (waiting whose length you know in advance) or Break / rest. A mis-tap can be undone from the bar at the bottom.
- Started earlier? Use "Add a change at another time". The calculator assumes you had a full daily rest before your first entry.
- Add earlier driving for this week and last week from your tachograph, so the 56 and 90-hour limits are right.
What it counts

What it does not do
- Multi-manning, ferry and train interruptions of rest, and weekly rest compensation.
- GB domestic rules (10 hours driving, 11 hours duty) and the 48-hour average working week.
- It is not a tachograph record. Your tachograph is the legal record; use this to plan.
Questions
How does the split 45-minute break work?
You can take at least 15 minutes and then at least 30 minutes within the 4.5 hours of driving. The 30-minute part must come second. The calculator shows when the first 15 minutes has been taken.
When must my daily rest start?
Early enough to finish inside 24 hours of the end of your last rest: 13 hours after you started for an 11-hour rest, or 15 hours for a 9-hour reduced rest if you still have one of your three reductions left.
Does availability count as a break?
No. For a single driver, a break is time used only for recuperation with no work. Availability is not driving or other work, but it does not reset the 4.5-hour clock.

Only in your browser on this device. Nothing is sent to us.
