Where this list comes from

No government body publishes a list of private truck stops. This one is built from OpenStreetMap, the open map anyone can edit: places mapped as a truck stop, fuel stations mapped as taking heavy goods vehicles, and motorway service plazas. Each listing shows what the map records, such as the brand, opening hours, a phone number or diesel, only where a mapper has added it.

Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License. If a stop is missing or wrong, it can be fixed at openstreetmap.org and the fix reaches this list at the next refresh.

Planning a stop around the hours rules

For a property-carrying driver, 49 CFR 395.3 requires 10 consecutive hours off duty before driving (395.3(a)(1)), ends driving 14 hours after coming on duty (395.3(a)(2)), caps driving at 11 hours (395.3(a)(3)(i)) and requires a 30-minute break after 8 hours of driving (395.3(a)(3)(ii)). What the list does not show

  • Amenities such as showers or scales appear only where mappers recorded them.
